This linocut, in seven plates, is a playful and stylized homage to Auguste Rodin's masterpiece, Le Penseur, situated in the gardens of the historic Hôtel Biron, once Rodin's house and atelier, now the Musée Rodin. The print depicts a whimsical, silent interaction between three figures: the monumantal bronze statue of The Thinker perched high on its plinth, a woman looking up in deep contemplation, and a black cat peeking out from behind a yew tree.
The print captures the romanticised, contemplative charm of exploring Parisian art spaces. By placing the woman and the cat in dialogue with the statue, it humanized the towering figure, turning it into an intimate moment of curiosity and philosophical pondering.
To make my art prints, my original sketch is transfered onto a lino block which I cut out with special gouges. I hand pull each print one at a time on a press, making each work a unique and original piece of art. Slight differences in each print are inherent in the process.
The print is sold unmounted and unframed. Ships from France in a heavy-duty cardboard art tube using a tracked postal service.
