This linocut invites you for a stroll up the slopes of Montmartre, up the Rue de l'Abreuvoir past the iconic Maison Rose, in the shadow of the Sacre Coeur. Founded in 1908, the restaurant La Maison Rose was the haunt of artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, Matisse, Valadon or Utrillo, and singers including Piaf, Aznavour, Brel or Barbara.
To make my art prints, my original sketch is transfered onto a block of lino which I cut out with special gouges. I hand pull my prints on a press one at a time, making each one a unique and original piece of art. Slight differences in each print are inherent in the process.
The print is sold unmounted and unframed but is shown here in a standard 50 cm x 70 cm frame.
